Part 1 of Bible Secrets Revealed aired on The History Channel Wednesday after being moved from Monday. Apparently, the next 5 episodes will also run on Wednesdays instead of Mondays. You can watch the full length video above in case you missed it. You can also ask the producers a question directly HERE if you’re so inclined.

Something I find interesting is the strange silence from conservative scholars. Most Christians are probably waiting for fiery rebuttals against these Atheists and Agnostics by conservatives. Except, no fiery rebuttals can be put forth. Why? Because nothing in the series was factual false. Everything talked about in this episode has been widely known throughout the academic circles by both liberal and conservative scholars alike for a very long time. The only people who are unaware of them are Christians.

The Wages of Sin is Death

Romans 6:23

Romans 6:23

Everyone knows this verse by heart – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus”. Is the consequence of sin death? Is there no other remedy to sin other than a blood sacrifice? The lesson Paul is giving is not really death, but eternal life. This is the central message of the Christian NT – if you believe in Jesus you’ll have eternal life – if not you’ll be condemned to eternal torment. But, is this the message of the Hebrew Bible?

Tovia Singer on Beyond the Matrix

I love, love, love Tovia Singer. This is probably the best I’ve heard and it spoke directly to me in so many ways. It’s long but time well spent.

Exo 20:3  “You shall have no other gods upon my face.

I have studied this before. You are not to put another god onto the face of God, ie. turn anything into HaShem. That’s what makes Christianity the most idolatrous religion of all – they have put an image onto His face and called it HaShem. It’s one thing to believe in another god like Buddha, but it’s entirely forbidden to say Buddha is HaShem. Likewise, it’s one thing to say Jesus is a god or devine, but to say he is HaShem is the most egregious form of idolatry.

This is why it’s so hard to talk to Christians about this – they don’t see it as idolatry because they think Jesus IS HaShem, therefore they are not worshiping another god. But they fail to see that transposing Jesus onto the face of HaShem IS the same thing – idolatry.

Deu 4:15-16  “Therefore watch yourselves very carefully. Since you saw no form on the day that the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire,  (16)  beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

HaShem has NO FORM of ANY FIGURE in the likeness of a MALE or FEMALE! Putting a figure of a male or female upon His face is Idolatry. Period.
