The Huffington Post recently ran an article entitled Belief That Jews Killed Jesus Is Held By Over a Quarter of Americans outlining a recent survey conducted by the Anti-Defamation League that indicates 26% of Americans still blame the Jews for the death of Jesus.
A recent survey by the Anti-Defamation League determined that 26% of Americans still believe that “Jews were responsible for the death of Christ.” Though that percentage has decreased from 31% in 2011, it still accounts for over a quarter of America.
This was a random survey polling 1,200 people, but I would like to see a survey conducted only of those who identify as Christians. My guess is that number would be substantially higher.
It doesn’t take long when you wander around in the blogosphere to encounter such loons who blame every known malady of mankind and the world on the Jews. Christians aren’t immune to this kind of poison and are usually the main culprits. Many such crazy theories originated within Christian circles such as The Serpent Seed Doctrine. It’s certainly not new but a modern form is taking shape……..and gaining steam.
